How to apply gel nail stickers

Follow these steps to apply your gel nail stickers.

Supplies:

• Gel nail stickers
• UV/LED nail lamp
• Gel polish remover
• Lint-free wipes
• Top coat
• Cuticle oil

1. Prep your nails – File your nails, gently push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher, and lightly buff the surface for better adhesion.
2. Degrease nails – Use acetone or a nail cleanser to make your nails clean and oil-free.
3. Choose size – Find the right size gel polish sticker and remove the plastic layer.
4. Apply sticker – Place the gel nail sticker on your nail and press it down firmly. Start at the base of your nails, just a few millimeters above your cuticles.
5. Press down edges – Use the wooden cuticle pusher to firmly press down the edges.
6. Trim to size – Cut or file the sticker to the right length and press it down firmly once more. Ensure there is no air left between your nail and the gel polish stickers.
7. Cure – Cure the gel polish stickers under a UV/LED nail lamp (at least 36 watts) (60-120 seconds).
8. Finishing touch – If necessary, you can file your nails/the gel polish sticker a little more. Remove any filed-off bits thoroughly, including under your nails. Ensure your nails are clean again.
9. Finish – Apply a gel top coat and cure again for 60-120 seconds under a UV/LED nail lamp for extra strength, shine, and longer wear.
10. Care – Apply some cuticle oil and massage it in well.

In under 20 minutes, you will have a perfect gel polish manicure with gel nail stickers!

How to best remove gel nail stickers?

What do you need?

- Cuticle oil

- Cuticle pusher

Step 1: Apply the cuticle oil generously along your cuticles and massage it in gently.

Step 2: Use a cuticle pusher to lift the gel nail sticker. If the sticker does not come off the nail easily, apply more oil. Repeat this step until the stickers are off your nails.

Step 3: Remove the adhesive residue from your nails with a nail wipe and gel polish remover.

All gel polish colors are HEMA and TPO free.

Yes, for PLAKKIE’S (gel nail stickers) you need a UV/LED lamp to fully cure the stickers and make them adhere to your nails. 

How long do gel nail stickers last?

The gel nail stickers stay looking good for 14 days. This depends on proper preparation and what you do with your nails/hands on a daily basis. Harsh cleaning agents, hot water (such as long showers or washing dishes with hot water), or soaking your hands frequently can shorten their lifespan.

Do I need to use a topcoat?

No, you don't necessarily have to use a topcoat, but if you want to enjoy them for longer, a topcoat is definitely recommended. 

How do you remove gel nail stickers?

With a cuticle pusher and cuticle oil. 

Are gel nail stickers bad for your nails?

No, as long as you apply and remove them correctly, they are not harmful. Never pull them off without using cuticle oil to protect your nail plate.

Are gel nail stickers suitable for short nails?

Yes! They can be used on any nail length (except for extremely long nails). You can trim or file the stickers to size.
