What is a rubber base coat?
A rubber base coat is a base layer that you apply to your nails. The flexible layer of the rubber base coat keeps the nail better protected against breaking and tearing. The flexible layer bends with the nail, so that the natural nail remains well protected. It also ensures optimal adhesion to the nail plate. Do you now suffer from very flat or thin nails? With the rubber base coat you can also create a natural curve on your nails.
So what is the difference between a regular base coat and a rubber base coat?
Before you apply your favorite color gel polish, you must of course first apply a base coat. This allows the gel polish color to adhere well and you can enjoy your manicure for longer. But which one should you choose? A (rubber) base coat protects the nail at all times and prevents discoloration of the natural nail. The rubber base coat has a higher viscosity than the regular base coat and is somewhat thicker. This also allows you to create a natural curve on the nail. Do you suffer from gel polish that peels off quickly and does not adhere well? Then you are better off choosing a rubber base coat. The rubber base coat is composed in such a way that it has the same effect as a primer and a base coat in one. And that in combination with the high viscosity ensures optimal adhesion. If you have damaged or ribbed nails, you are also better off opting for the rubber base coat. This ensures that the irregularities are filled in, so that you create an even nail again.
And what is so special about a colored rubber base coat?
There are many advantages to a colored rubber base coat. If you love the nude look, this is definitely an option. Applying two thin layers and finishing with a top coat will complete your look. This is also very handy when you have less time for a manicure, but still don't want to wear nothing on your nails. And to also provide some extra strength to the natural nail. You can also use a colored rubber base coat to create a French manicure or you can create fantastic nail art on it. Finally, it is also very handy when you have a thin or light color gel polish. This ensures an even base. Please note that the color of the chosen gel polish can be influenced somewhat by the color of the rubber base.
